In my case that meant switching to the Democratic Party. I was a
life-long Republican, mostly voting as an Independent, but it is
“time for a change” and Obama’s desire to directly
involve us as citizens to help shape the Democratic Party’s
Platform through Community Platform Meetings really impressed me.
- Focus and Concerns:
• Safeguard our Constitution and Bill of Rights
• Access to health care
ª Protect the Verde River
ª Improve Arizona’s educational standing and opportunities, including special needs
• Slow growth to fit available water and infrastructure and consider the environmental impact
ª Affordable housing
• Regional transportation
• Integrity of our voting system

BIO: I recently retired from 20 years of teaching
accounting and computer science at Yavapai College at both the
Clarkdale and Prescott campuses, both as full time faculty and as
staff. I worked on several YC committees, including as team
leader of the Criterion Committee for the NCA self-study accreditation
effort and helped with the child care center planning. I’ve
been 48 years in Arizona, the last 28 in the Prescott area.
Prior to my Yavapai College time, for seven years I was the
Accountant/Comptroller of the Arizona State Senate, serving under three
different Senate Presidents, Republican and Democrat, including US
Congressman Bob Stump (deceased). During that time I was

of the Senate Reconstruction Project going on at that time.
I am married, had three children (girls), lost one and a previous
husband, and now my husband Joe (a local activist) and I together
have four children and four grandchildren. I am a small
business owner in Prescott educating and assisting people with health
issues connected with aging, multiple chemical sensitivities,
arthritis, mold neuro-toxins and other toxins from our current
environment, and the maintenance of general good health using modern,
cutting-edge, proven advanced technological devices and nutritional
building blocks.
